    WHAT HAPPENED?

Despite being one of England's top right-backs and making his debut in 2021, White has only appeared four times for the Three Lions in his career. The Arsenal defender was called up to the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, but he departed the team following a clash with former assistant coach Steve Holland while Gareth Southgate was manager. Since then, White has made himself unavailable for selection but that could be about to change.

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

Southgate and Holland departed the Three Lions earlier this year after the side's failure in the Euro 2024 final against Spain, and talkSPORT's Adrian Durham has now revealed that White is considering making a U-turn on his decision to not play for England. The Arsenal man is reportedly ready to ply his trade under new boss Tuchel's management.

  • WHAT DURHAM SAID

Speaking to talkSPORT, Durham said: "I've heard from a very good source that Arsenal's Ben White will be making himself available for selection in March. That will be when England play for the first time under Thomas Tuchel."

  • WHAT NEXT FOR WHITE?

However, Durham still questioned whether White would be accepted into the England national team when he takes charge, considering he has turned down England duties until now. He added: "I'm fascinated to see if Tuchel thinks 'Yes, I'll have him straight back in, he's a top-four player, he's playing regularly for Arsenal, so he gets straight back in'. Or, whether he says to himself, 'This is somebody who didn't care about England, so no I'm not going to have him back in'."

White is currently out injured and has undergone surgery on his knee, and it remains unclear when he will be fit to make his return to action for Arsenal.
